BEGIN (Biotechnology, Ethics, and Genetics Instructional Network) is a partnership between the University of Rochester 's Life Sciences Learning Center and the New York State Biology-Chemistry Mentor Network. The BEGIN partnership has created Family Secrets, a high school curriculum module that uses problem-based learning to help students increase their knowledge and understanding of genetic testing and its ethical, legal, and social implications. |

“My Environment, My Health, My Choices” is an interdisciplinary environmental health curriculum development project for teachers of grades 5-12 from throughout the greater Rochester area. The project is intended to help teachers introduce environmental health curricula into a variety of subject areas, and to increase student and teacher knowledge about the links between the environment and human health. |

The University of Rochester Environmental Health Sciences Center’s Community Outreach and Education Programs (COEP) provide environmental health information, resources, and referrals in response to community members' environmental health questions, and promote environmental health sciences education for students and teachers. |
